At Barbers Trade School, we welcome applications from anyone interested in pursuing a career in barbering. However, our goal is to carefully evaluate each candidate to ensure we’re admitting individuals who genuinely have the passion, dedication, and drive to succeed in barber school. What to Bring With You for Enrollment

To begin your journey at Barbers Trade School, there are a few essential items you’ll need to bring with you during the enrollment process:

• Proof of Education – We will need to see either a high school diploma or a GED certificate to allow us to know that you have completed those educational requirements. 
• Social Security Number – This is used simply to identify you as a lawful resident and to prove your identity. This information will be kept securely within our records. 
• Payment of Registration and Book Fees – We do require a payment of your registration and book fees at the time of your enrollment. This will provide you with all of the materials that you need when you get started on your first day. 

Once you’ve gathered these documents, we can begin processing your enrollment. It’s an exciting milestone, knowing you’re about to embark on a career in barbering that will teach you valuable skills for years to come.

Admission Requirements

To apply to Barbers Trade School, make sure you meet the following requirements:

• Enrollment Agreement – Sign an enrollment agreement (signed by a parent or guardian if the student is a minor).
• Interview – Complete an interview with an admissions representative.
• Payment Schedule – Establish a payment schedule with our team.
• Texas DARS – If Texas DARS sponsors you, provide a copy of the purchase order to the financial aid office.
• Scholarship Agreement – If you’re applying for scholarships, submit and complete the Scholarship Agreement (approval is required before starting the program).
• ID and Educational Proof – Provide a current ID, Social Security number, and a high school diploma or GED certificate, or proof of successful homeschooling completion as defined by Texas State law.
• References – Submit accurate and current contact information for five references (3 relatives and 2 friends).

What Kind of Time Commitment is Necessary?

Our Class A Barber program consists of 1,000 hours of coursework and hands-on training, which typically spans 8 to 10 months. This intensive training is designed to ensure that, upon completion, you’ll have the skills and expertise needed to provide top-notch service to your clients and excel in the barbering profession.
