Admission Requirments

• Enrollment agreement (signed by a parent or guardian if the student is a minor)

• Interview with an admissions representative

• Creation of a payment schedule

• If Texas DARS sponsors a student, a copy of the purchase order must be presented to the financial aid office

• Submission and completion of the Scholarship Agreement (students must receive an approval letter before starting; scholarships are provided for those who qualify)

• Current ID, Social Security, High School Diploma/GED certificate, or successful completion of homeschooling at the secondary level as defined by Texas State law

• Provision of accurate and current contact information for five references (3 relatives; 2 friends)

Career Advice and Support

Barbers Trade School offers placement assistance to help students find jobs. While we can’t guarantee employment, we provide valuable advice on interviews, job marketing, employment trends, application forms, resumes, and cover letters upon request. The school informs potential employers about our curriculum and posts job opportunities on campus. Students are encouraged to consult with the placement office for career advice and support. The office helps students stay motivated, make informed career choices, and take responsibility for their career development.

About Our Admissions

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes! At Barbers Trade School, we offer financial aid to those who qualify. We believe that financial roadblocks shouldn’t get in the way of your education and goals. For more information about financial aid, contact us! We’re happy to assist you in seeing what you qualify for or help answer any questions.

Are there any licensing requirements for your programs?

We only require a license for our Cosmetology Crossover Barber License. Our crossover program is for licensed barbers wanting to learn cosmetology.

What are the class schedules like?

Currently, our schedules are as follows:

Class A Barber: 1000 hours, 8-10 months

Cosmetology Crossover: 300 hours, 2-4 months
